Social Recruiting: Life After LinkedIn? Facebook & Twitter
STAR Chicago Member: $100 | Non-Member: $150

Host Sponsor

This is your chance to become an expert at sourcing great hires via the internet! In this hands-on session, industry pioneer Shally Steckerl will show you how to speed up your sourcing with search shortcuts and get social — without wasting time — to “find the unfindable” candidates. Participants will learn to:

Create search strings to optimize the “New Facebook Hack”. Find people with very specific criteria including where they went to school, where they grew up, where they’ve lived and worked, where they live now, where they have checked in, what pages or groups they like, and what apps they use.

  • Apply Twitter specific syntax to search methods and techniques.
  • Search content within Twitter and from external sources for name generation and competitive intelligence. Through Twitter you can reveal the names of people at companies, the tools they work with, learn about industry trends, find attendees at conferences and connect with otherwise unreachable people.
  • Use advanced search operators on Twitter for recruiting with secret commands.
  • Build a list of people to follow on Twitter and get recommendations on free Twitter applications that are best for recruiters.
  • Understand how to leverage groups and multiple-account management on Twitter.

Shally Steckerl, President of the The Sourcing Institute Foundation and one of the originators of the talent sourcing discipline. A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer with twenty years of recruiting experience, Mr. Steckerl builds enterprise recruiting engines for Fortune 500 brands helping them efficiently find unfindable talent. I build enterprise recruiting engines for Fortune 500 brands helping them efficiently find unfindable talent. I partner with the people most vital to your company’s success, the Recruiters and Sourcers responsible for hiring so your company can survive and thrive. From the most experienced to ones new to the job, what we do makes Recruiters and Sourcers better. When you partner with me your recruitment teams achieve their hiring goals through learning the most efficient and advanced techniques in the industry. The results are an improved reputation in the talent marketplace, reduction in recruiting costs, increase in speed to hire, and more productive hiring teams. Since 1996 I have pioneered Talent Sourcing. Some know me as the creator of the original Sourcing Cheatsheet, the one that started it all and launched the sourcing industry. Others know me through thousands of presentations worldwide or because I wrote the industry defining textbook The Talent Sourcing and Recruiting Handbook (ISBN 978-1928734796). All you have to do is read any of the 100+ recommendations below and you’ll see why I’m the most sought out expert in this field. We are successful because we begin with an objective evaluation. Our proprietary assessment removes all guesswork and provides a diagnostic that pinpoints areas of opportunity for both teams and individuals. We then meet and present the results along with a set of solutions that may include education, advisory services and sourcing support.
