The Gig is Up! Or is it?
Navigating the Future of a Growing Gig Economy in Uncertain Times

STAR Chicago Members & Non-Members: Complimentary Attendance

The gig economy was booming before Covid-19 came onto the scene in 2020, but what is the future outlook of the gig worker trend and the impact on employers who seek to employ them in our new, more virtual workplace reality?

What should employers consider when partnering with a Gig worker marketplace platform like Upwork and MBO Partners, which are used to procure and manage billing for independent contractor / Gig workers?

How are these platforms different from a traditional contractor payroll solution offered by many staffing firms through their managed service (MSP) programs?

What considerations exist for employers uncertain about the economic recovery who are considering laying off, or bringing back furloughed, formerly full-time employees, as part-time gig workers?

If these questions are on your mind, then be sure to join us on July 23rd for an interactive webinar panel discussion on this hot topic.  Our expert panel will represent the following perspectives:

A “career Gig worker/contractor” who has secured employment almost exclusively through gig marketplace platforms

An employer committed to NOT laying off or furloughing talent during the Covid19 crisis by using gig work to develop and redeploy skills internally

A mid-market employer who has gone from pipeline sourcing gig/contract workers themselves to partnering with a gig worker marketplace provider

A global professional services talent acquisition leader who leverages gig/contract marketplace providers to provide workforce scalability

Wade Forbes, Gig Worker - RedTale Communications
Wade began independent consulting in the spring of 2017, after spending nearly 15 years in the intelligence community and DoD as a traditional defense contractor. After hearing from clients that they were consistently overwhelmed with information and too busy to read, Wade decided it was time to draw upon his artistic skills and create visuals that were easy to digest and understand. This transition was made easier by aligning himself with MBO Partners to help him arrange his business relationships and get paid on time. Continuing to grow relationships in the public and private sectors by surrounding himself with other independents, Wade remains focused on learning new techniques and approaches to his work while applying his years of experience and skill. Today, Wade helps to bring conversations to life and create art for the intelligence community, non-profits, military, commercial businesses, religious organizations, and many more. Wade firmly believes that the benefits of seeing your ideas and conversations come to life are endless, and he is learning more with each opportunity session - becoming a more empathetic and trustworthy listener by being silent for hours at a time in large groups.
